Diagnose and fix the problem

  1. Confirm 5 GHz was configuredDual-band WPS can require a second pairing cycle; browser setup should show the selected 5 GHz router SSID.
  2. Move closer5 GHz weakens faster through distance and walls, so a location that works on 2.4 GHz may fail on 5 GHz.
  3. Check router channel compatibilityUse an automatic or broadly compatible 5 GHz channel while diagnosing region/model limitations.
  4. Compare security modesTemporarily select a manufacturer-supported transition mode if the extender firmware does not support the router's newest setting.
  5. Update firmware safelyUse the exact model download from the manufacturer and keep power stable throughout the update.
Before a factory reset: If these checks do not match your model, stop before resetting and use its exact manual or model guide.
