Mywifiext Opens the Router Instead of the Extender

Why local management reaches the wrong device and how to identify the extender IP safely.

Diagnose and fix the problem

  1. Confirm which WiFi serves the clientDisconnect and rejoin the extender-side network. With One WiFi Name, the SSID alone may not identify the serving node.
  2. Find the extender in the router listOpen the router's connected-device or DHCP table and match the extender name or MAC label.
  3. Open the assigned addressUse the listed extender IP in the browser. Do not assume the router gateway or 192.168.1.250 is correct.
  4. Avoid public search resultsType the address into the browser address bar while remaining on the local LAN.
  5. Use a temporary distinct SSID if neededWhen the model allows it, separate names make association testing clearer; restore your preferred naming after diagnosis.
Before a factory reset: If these checks do not match your model, stop before resetting and use its exact manual or model guide.
