How to Find a WiFi Extender’s IP Address
Locate the current DHCP address from a router, phone or computer instead of guessing 192.168.1.250.
Diagnose and fix the problem
- Use the router connected-device listLook for the extender name, model or MAC address printed on its label.
- Check the DHCP client tableThe lease list can show the IP even when the friendly device name is missing.
- Use a connected computer carefullyThe default gateway is usually the router, not the extender; use the ARP/neighbour list only to identify candidates.
- Use the manufacturer app when supportedAn official app can display managed devices and their local status.
- Reserve the address only if neededA router-side DHCP reservation can keep management predictable without forcing an incompatible static address on the extender.
